In their sixth season, the Carya String Quartet explores some of their favorites from Beethoven’s oeuvre while exploring the influences that Beethoven has had throughout the centuries.
Beethoven’s Quartet in B-flat Major Op. 18 No. 6 lays the harmonic foundation for Caroline Shaw’s modern Blueprint. These works are paired with Emilie Mayer’s String Quartet in G Minor, which typifies the Romantic string quartet styles which followed Beethoven’s legacy, while also drawing inspiration from Bach’s chorales.
