Sweet Charity
Fri Feb 14, 2025 – Sun Feb 23, 2025
Art Factory Presents a Steamy and Side-Splitting New Production of SWEET CHARITY!

Our story follows Charity Hope Valentine, an unlucky, but always hopeful dancehall hostess at the Fandango Ballroom, as she navigates her way from one flopped romance to the next in 1960’s New York City. The beloved, Tony-winning 1966 musical, originally conceived and directed by none other than Bob Fosse, boasts a hilarious book by Neil Simon and an addicting score by Cy Coleman (music) and Dorothy Fields (lyrics). The raucous musical comedy features classic songs like “Big Spender,” “Rhythm of Life,” “Baby Dream Your Dream,” “If My Friends Could See Me Now,” and of course, “Sweet Charity.” Art Factory’s sparkling new revival of this musical gem promises to be a perfect night at the theater!

Victoria Ritchie stars as SWEET CHARITY with Colton Berry as Oscar, Katy McCants as Nickie, Christine Mompoint as Helene, and Matthew Shurtz as Herman. SWEET CHARITY also stars an incomparable cast of Houston-local talent including Donna Barnett (Daddy Brubeck), Robby Black (Doorman), Diego Cotte (Waiter), Nicole Ercan (Ursula), Luke J. Hamilton (Baseball Player), Deletha Mclaurin (Carmen), Julia Noble (Rosie), Nicole Peach (Betsy), Abbi Rodrigue (Frenchy), Elizabeth Chrisman Shurtz (Elaine), Sarah Beth Sims (Suzanne), Stephanie Welder (Good Fairy), Aylin Dilara White (Alice), and Luke Yerpestock (Manfred). The production is Directed and Designed by Founding Artistic Director Colton Berry and Choreographed by Founding Executive Director Luke J. Hamilton. Jane Volke serves as Music Director and Ashley M. Frye is Production Stage Manager.

SWEET CHARITY runs February 14 through 23 with 8:00 p.m. performances on Fridays and Saturdays and 5:00 p.m. performances on Sundays. For tickets, visit www.ArtFactoryHouston.com.
