The Houston Brass Band is Houston’s premier British-style brass ensemble. Formed in the year 2000, the band initially consisted of a small group of brass musicians who–inspired by the British film Brassed Off–met casually in an effort to express their enthusiasm for British-style brass band music.
The Houston Brass Band has now grown into a robust, high-level ensemble, annually performing a wide variety of concerts across the Greater Houston area and beyond. You may hear HBB performing in traditional concert halls and schools, outdoor Oktoberfest performances, Texas-sized places of worship, and prestigious venues such as Festival Hill at Round Top and Zilkha Hall in downtown Houston.
As a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, community outreach is at the heart of our organization. In addition to providing accessible, high-quality performances to the public, the Houston Brass Band proudly contributes to music education through summer BOB (Brass Only Band) Camps and an annual Young Brass Soloist Competition.
