METALAB is a multidisciplinary design firm and licensed architecture practice located in Houston, Texas. We work with equal facility in three distinct areas of practice: Architecture, Creative Infrastructure, and Public Art Project Management. The relationships between these genres inspire us as we employ technologies common to each in the service of elegant and unique solutions.

Since our founding, we have rigorously embraced advanced 3D modeling and digital fabrication technologies, though our practice is grounded in the understanding that craft and technology are symbiotic. We have a keen appreciation for the regional craftsmanship and capacity of our industrial city, and this awareness often informs our design process.

We’ve practiced in Houston for over a decade and we’ve embraced the city’s diversity, idiosyncracies, and can-do attitude. Our studio is located in an Art-Deco building in the East End, Houston’s original maker district. We are concious of that legacy and humbly endeavor to play a role in its evolution.
