The C. Lee Turner Performing Arts Center, named in honor of award-winning, trail-blazing Theatre Teacher, Professor, and Director,
Clarance Lee Turner, respectfully known as the Father of Black Theatre Education in Texas. The venue is located on the campus of M. C. Williams Middle School, formerly M. C. Williams Jr., Sr. High School, home of the internationally acclaimed, Die Gruppe Drama Troupe.
