The Parsifal Project (In Person)

February 9 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Join acclaimed Houston-based stage director Brad Dalton for this live dramatization of the medieval legend of Parsifal and the myth of the Grail, adapted from two great twelfth-century works – Perceval by Chrétien de Troyes, and Parzival by Wolfram von Eschenbach. Using simple theatrical means, five actors portray a cast of characters to tell this richly poetic and psychologically resonant tale. With Parsifal, meet the wounded Fisher King of the Grail castle, Amfortas, and contemplate how his wound is a common condition in the Western world. Crucial for the development of consciousness, this wounding becomes a pre-requisite for the experience of redemption and, through the intercession of Parsifal, leads to a life of self-awareness and authenticity. Allow this enchanting performance to let the Grail myth speak directly to your psyche. As the great Jungian analyst Robert Johnson notes, it is as relevant now as it has ever been.
