Throwing Boot Camp (Ceramic Wheel Throwing)

Join us for a 5 day hands on ceramic wheel throwing workshop with Lotus Bermudez and Allyn Martinez June 17-21, 2024

This class will be 5 days of focused pottery wheel skill building to enhance your current throwing abilities and to also explore alternative forms. Our recommendation is to be able to center 2 pounds of clay comfortably to take this workshop.

Each morning Monday-Thursday, Allyn will take you through various pottery wheel drills from small to medium sized throwing. During the course of the week you will keep various pieces to add to your final piece on Friday.

Each afternoon Monday-Thursday, Lotus will slow us down and work on going larger and expanding your ability to push the clay. She will focus on more in depth skill mastery using various techniques.

On Friday we will use many of the pieces made during the course of the week to combine them to make one compound piece, pushing your work from functional ceramics to sculptural work.

Please bring your favorite tools, a towel, and an apron.

Lunch will be provided.
