Houston Contemporary Dance Company

Houston Contemporary Dance Company believes that dance should be accessible to all communities.  Through on campus performances and workshops we aim to provide the tools for aspiring artists to make their dreams a reality.  We will target low income populations through free public performances in order to reduce financial barriers to ticketed events and attract art enthusiasts by presenting works created by prestigious dancemakers at renowned theaters throughout Houston.  HCDC also acknowledges a growing need for interactive art by targeting young professionals with our Follow the Dancer campaign. FtD is a series of immersive pop-up events at non-traditional performance spaces that will create memorable interactive experiences.  

HCDC employs an array of digital marketing activities across social media platforms, e-blast newsletters, online promotions, and video production including teaser videos, testimonials, and interviews.  Direct mail will also be used to promote programming and include thank you letters with call to action opportunities. Performance table displays, in store promotions, and open rehearsals will be used as offline promotion, while media promotion in publications and reviews are anticipated as we build community outreach and connections. 

HCDC is currently building partnerships with local and national dance organizations, local arts organizations such as the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and Apollo Chamber Players, theater spaces, and local businesses as part of our Follow the Dancer campaign.  FreshArts will partner with HCDC as our fiscal sponsor, providing a wealth of resources and services as we begin our journey as a new and exciting arts organization in Houston.
