My artistic journey is rooted in a passion for art and technology. As an immigrant, I understand the value of support, motivating me to give back to my community. With a degree in architecture, I’ve nurtured my creative skills and actively participated in art events to raise funds for charitable causes.
During Covid, I co-founded Crate Houston, a non-profit with a mission to “empower communities through design and creativity”. During this time, I also decided to invest in my interest in professional photography. Through our collaboration with the Eastex Jensen Happening project, I realized the profound significance of documenting people’s lives and experiences. It became clear that sharing my passion for photography could make a positive impact, capturing the essence of moments and preserving memories for generations to come.
The inspiration for this project came from conversations with Roni Cabrera at Art in the Heart and two motivated students saving for their senior graduation photos. Witnessing their ambition inspired me to lend a helping hand.
Under Crate Houston, we organized “Free High School Senior Photos” in May 2023, a successful event despite limited resources. The heartfelt appreciation from the families we served fueled my commitment to this endeavor.
