Designated in 2012 by the State of Texas as a Cultural Arts and Entertainment District, Midtown Houston is the first management district to apply and receive this esteemed designation. Home to more than 90 cultural arts organizations this community hosts monthly committee meetings to update guests on the projects and events of the area. You can find meeting details on our event calendar.
Some of the annual events in the Midtown Cultural Arts and Entertainment District are
April – Midtown Art in the Park – a juried outdoor fine art festival.
May – June – Midtown Children’s Performance Art Festival – an outdoor event for children featuring performances, craft classes and learning about cultural arts.
December – Midtown Mistletoe Market – a curated outdoor holiday market.
This Cultural District also awards the midtownHOU Arts Micro Grant. Grants of typically less than $5,000 for small to mid sized arts organizations, artists or arts businesses to bring public art and cultural awareness to the Midtown community.
